New Era, Same Football University

March 13th, 2019
FBU Camps and Showcases, the FBU National Championship, and the FBU Freshman All-Star Game are under new ownership

Football University and its related properties – the FBU National Championship, FBU Top Gun, and the FBU Freshman All-Star Game – have new ownership beginning today. While it will be new management, the mission of helping the next generation succeed and the connection to the national All-American Bowl high school event remain intact and stronger than ever.

Steve Quinn and Erik Richards, both longstanding national figures in youth and high school football, through their company, MSNC, LLC, have taken over as owners of Football University.

“We are thrilled about what the future holds for Football University and where these properties are headed,” said Steve Quinn, President of MSNC, LLC. “We thank All American Games Chairman/CEO Doug Berman for his years of guidance and leadership, and we will continue to make Football University the industry leader in all-star games, tournaments, showcases and football development events.”

Football University is uniquely aligned to the premier high school sports event in the country, a relationship that affords every FBU student-athlete and coach the ultimate exposure tool at every FBU event. A total of 12 All-Americans will be selected at various FBU Camps and Showcases this spring by FBU staff as part of FBU’s continuing involvement on the All-American Bowl Selection Committee.  Up to 300 high school underclassmen will be invited to the prestigious National Combine, taking place the day prior to the All-American Bowl since 2002.

The FBU National Championship will continue to be the place where the next generation of All Americans are first discovered.  With Naples, Florida’s Paradise Coast and Collier County as the anchor for this event and the support of NBC Sports the National Championship provides athletes from all backgrounds a chance to get noticed.

“Our relationship with the FBU brand provides an opportunity to get to know these athletes, their families and their coaches when they are beginning their path to becoming the country’s elite football talent,” said Gary Quinn, Vice President, Programming & Owned Properties, NBC Sports Group.  “We look forward to the role FBU plays in discovering future elite athletes and working with them in the future.”

“Football University looks forward to the continued longstanding partnership with the premier high school All-American Bowl in the country,” noted Erik Richards, executive of MSNC and the All-American Bowl’s National Recruiting Director. “With NBC Sports’ invested resources, the All-American Bowl and National Combine will be taken to the next level. FBU’s commitment to seek the top talent in the country for exclusive invites to these events will continue.”

“I am thrilled to be ‘handing off’ the leadership of the Football University franchise to Steve Quinn and Erik Richards,” stated Doug Berman, Chairman/CEO of All American Games.  “Their proven leadership in helping kids succeed and involvement in youth & prep football make them uniquely prepared to become the stewards of what they have been helping to build as part of All American Games for more than the past decade.”

With a strong affiliation with NBC and a renewed focus, we believe we are just scratching the surface. As the industry leader in middle school and high school football events, FBU just took another massive leap forward in continuing to be the country’s leader in helping the next generation of student-athletes reach football success.

We’re still here. We are just getting started.
