Football University continued its 2016 camp season in Austin, Texas from April 15-17.  More than 260 student-athletes experienced NFL-level technique training, learning from FBU’s elite faculty of NFL coaches.

2018 QB, Zach Rangel, of Marble Falls High School, had the strongest arm at camp. He earned not only the Leadership Award but also an invitation to the 2017 Army Combine. He worked well through his reads and could check down to 2nd and 3rd progressions. One of the most coachable kids at camp, he improved after each session.  Tristan Hendrix, 2017 QB from Cedar Creek High School, is the best Junior QB at camp. He has great strength, and the ability to read defensive schemes.

Casey Phillips, 2018 OL from Franklin High School, was consistent in every drill. Phillips has a great kick step in pass pro, and sets quickly. He engages well with the DL, drives and moves feet well. He has natural athleticism to pull and be able to move to OG.

2017 CB Javelin Guidry from Cedar Park High School was dubbed by XOS as the fastest kid at camp. Guidry is an excellent prospect, regardless of size, and is a decorated track athlete as well as football player.

Younger brother and fellow Cedar Park High School football player, 2018 DB Elisha Guidry was counted as the second fastest camper, coming in just after his brother. He has the speed and build of being a great football player

2017 DB Marcus Jenkins from Eastlake High School continued to get better during the entire camp. He held his own against some pretty good receivers. He had a near perfect transition from peddle to run. Jenkins reads the QB well in zone coverage, which will translate into great field play. Duvon Jones, 2018 DB from Cedar Ridge High School, is a solid corner with a nice back peddel who excels in press coverage. 2019 DB from Lake Travis High School, Hunter Henry was one of the most coachable kids at camp, with multiple interceptions during the 7v7. Henry was the best safety at camp.

Trey King, 2020 DB from Round Rock High School won the Leadership Award for the Youth Division. King is equally good in press man and zone coverage. Has the build to be physical at the point of attack. He is one to watch throughout high school.

Upcoming Senior, 2017 RB, Madu Eneli, from Harker Heights High School, is a playmaker. Eneli was the best all-around running back at the camp. He could make people miss with ease, ran great routes, and has very soft hands.

2017 LB, Jaimon Byers, from Cedar Ridge High School was the best linebacker at the camp. Byers has a strong base, with a muscular frame. He works well to the ball and in man coverage.

Kevin Madigan, Coppell High School 2017 Kicker is extremely consistent with his field goals and kick offs. At camp, he went against the top kicker and was a close second. Madigan has a strong leg, and won the first kicking competition at camp. A fellow 2017 Kicker, Flower Mound High School, Josh Grant put his kick-offs out the back of the end zone every time. His leg is so strong he was able to exceed the end line by 8 yards.

Another Flower Mount High School player, 2019 Kicker Joshua Plaster is just starting out. Although he is young, he has a live leg with great accuracy and strength. He has the potential to become a Division I kicker.

Drew Wise, 2017 LS from Free State High School, was the best long snapper at camp. His snaps were consistently fast with enough speed to cover nicely. 2017 LS, Jarrod Jacobsen, from Westlake High School, had very fast and accurate short snaps. He continued to improve with every snap.

2017 DL from Parkland High School Joshua Wells push and pull, dominated all the OL at the camp. He was by far the best DL at the camp. He had great feet and power. Going into his senior season he is sure to dominate. Raquan Thompson, 2019 DL from Ellison High School was a dominant DL at the point of attack. He had good knee bend and use of his hands to get separation from the opposition. As a freshman he can grow into a prototypical defensive lineman.

Mack Parker, 2018 RB from Vandergrift High School, catches the ball extremely well out of the backfield. He has the ability to make the defender miss with his precise cuts. 2019 RB, Jacob Ruff from Canyon Lake High School, was very advanced in route running. He was able to make LB’s miss in open space. Ruff showed outstanding effort in every play.

2016 WR Tony Richardson from Cedar Ridge High School earned an invite to the 2017 Army Combine. Richardson is consisted with route running and worked hard the entire camp.

2017 WR Matthew Kilpatrick from Cedar Ridge High School was electric. Kilpatrick caught anything and everything within his vicinity. He had great rout running skills and will excel in his senior season. Fellow 2017 WR, Caleb Putman, Pflugerville High School, won the Gatorade Award, for best overall player in the High School camp. He made plays on plays. Putman made nice catches in traffic and in open space.

Collin Sullivan 2020 WR from Round Rock High School, was a very skilled athlete for being so young. As an 8th grader, he ran through receiver drills, 1 on 1 and 7v7 with the high school athletes, and competed. Sullivan was named MVP of the Youth Division.
