Tevin Mims joined the FBU Coaching Staff in 2024! He played at Stony Point High School in Texas, where he was an all-state and 2x all-district selection. He was rated as one of the nation’s top 20 players at this position by both ESPN and Rivals.

After High School, Mims elected to attend the University of Texas, where he played for two seasons before transferring to the University of South Florida. At USF, Mims was the team’s defensive MVP and was a team captain his senior season.

After college, Mims went on to play in the NFL for the Miami Dolphins under coach Joe Philbin.

Once his playing days ended in 2016, Mims went to coach at Texas Tech University, where he spent 3 seasons. After that, Mims went to Texas State where he currently is coaching.
