Kevin Garrett

Biography

Position: Wide Receivers

Kevin Garrett is entering his first year on the Football University Coaching Staff in 2022. He brings a wealth of personal experience and knowledge to the FBU staff, which he is excited to pass onto the student-athletes he'll work with this offseason. Coach Garrett played at Southern Methodist University from 1998-2002 where he earned All-Western Athletic Conference Honorable Mention honors in 2011, and was named Conference Freshman of the Year in 1999. During his time at SMU, Garrett was also a standout track star - which translated nicely during the 2003 NFL Combine when he ran the fastest 40-yard dash at 4.31.

Kevin was selected in the fifth round of the 2003 NFL Draft by the St. Louis Rams. He ultimately played in the NFL for four (4) years, with stops on the Rams, Chiefs, Texans and Panthers. After the NFL, Garrett played two (2) more years in the CFL with the Calgary Stampeders, Saskatchewan Roughriders and Winnipeg Blue Bombers.

Coach Garrett currently develops student-athletes through his Swift Sessions training academy - which focuses on speed development, sports performance and recovery.
