FBU Linebacker Coach Larry Mac Duff brings 32 years of experience coaching college and professional athletes. He has specialized in coaching linebackers, defensive line and special teams at Stanford, Hawaii, Arizona & Texas. He has eight years of experience coaching special teams in the NFL.

Coach Mac Duff spent 12 years as the defensive coordinator and linebacker coach at the University of Arizona. During the early 1990’s, Arizona’s Desert Swarm defense led the nation in scoring defense (1992), rushing defense (1993) and for four consecutive years (1992-1995)  finished ranked in the NCAA Top Ten in total defense. Also during his tenure at Arizona, he helped mentor Nagurski Trophy & Outland Trophy winner Rob Waldrop (1993), Thorpe Award winner Darryll Lewis (1990), Lombardi Award finalist / NCAA career sack co-champion Tedy Bruschi (1995) and five Pac-10 Defensive Players of the Year.

Mac Duff has 8 years of NFL coaching experience. He was the special teams coach for the New York Giants (1997-2000). During this time the Giants won two NFC East Championships and played in Super Bowl XXXV. In addition, Coach Mac Duff was the Special Teams Coordinator for the San Francisco 49ers for four years (2003-2006).

Most recently Coach Mac Duff coached four seasons (2009-2012) in the UFL as the Defensive Coordinator / Linebacker coach / Special Teams Coordinator for Las Vegas. Las Vegas won the UFL Championship in both 2009 and 2010.
