Christian McCaffrey, Sony Michel & Trevor Lawrence Among Freshman All-American Bowl Alumni
Football University, a partner of the All-American Bowl and the NBC Sports Group, today announced today an agreement to live stream the Football University Freshman All-American Bowl on the NBC Sports app. The Freshman All-American Bowl, which will be played on December 18, 2019 in Naples, FL, will feature the top 60 U.S. high school football players in the Class of 2023 from all over the country.
The Football University (FBU) All-American Bowl Powered By Adidas is a developmental week showcasing the nation’s best freshmen football players. Since 2009, the event has allowed freshmen football players of the highest level a platform to assemble and compete in one place. Two teams are selected, comprised of the top 60 student-athletes in their graduating class, to compete in December in beautiful Naples, Florida. Tens of thousands of freshmen strive for the prestigious honor of FBU All-American.
Notable alumni from this game include five-star high school All-Americans Christian McCaffrey, Sony Michel, Cam Akers, Trevor Lawrence, Will Grier, Harrison Bailey, JT Daniels and Dylan Moses.
“NBC Sports’ with the FBU brand allows us to present programming to introduce viewers and fans to these athletes, their families and their coaches as they begin their path to becoming the country’s elite football talent,” said Gary Quinn, Vice President, Programming & Owned Properties, NBC Sports Group. “We look forward to the role FBU plays in discovering elite athletes and working with them into the future.”
“We couldn’t be more excited to showcase this game with our partners NBC Sports on its digital platforms. The FBU All-American Bowl is where we find many of the athletes who will compete in future All-American Bowls on NBC. Tying these two games together makes sense for the short and the long term,” said Steve Quinn, President of Football University.
