The NFL Draft is a month away and all signs are pointing towards quarterbacks being taken early and often. Football University gives you a breakdown of the top five available signal callers in the draft.

1. Sam Darnold

+ Played a Pro-Style system at USC
+ Strong athlete, throws well on the run
+ Strong Pro-Day performance, can make every throw

– Too many turnovers at USC
– Left school with 2 years of eligibility left

2. Josh Rosen

+ Purest passer in the class
+ Good pocket awareness
+ Exceptional knowledge of the game, will require excellence from coaches and teammates.

– Does he love football?
– Injury prone at UCLA

 

3. Josh Allen

+ Strongest arm in the entire class
+ Plays with a chip on his shoulder, JUCO QB turned into potential Top-5 pick.
+ Big bodied quarterback, 6’5”

– Small School player
– Accuracy issues at times
– Struggled against top level competition

4. Baker Mayfield
+Proven winner — Walk on QB turned into the Heisman trophy winner
+ Can make all the throws
+ Natural leader, teammates will run through a wall for him.

– Baker Being Baker attitude issues
– Does not have ideal size

5. Lamar Jackson

+ Physical freak, best athlete of the group
+ 2016 Heisman Trophy Winner

– Is he a quarterback?
– Below average completion percentage
