Maxwell Smith is a Former Kentucky quarterback who played in 21 games with 11 starting assignments from 2011-13. Completed 292 passes on 486 attempts with 3,070 yards with 21 touchdowns in his three seasons. Played in eight games, starting three late in the season as a freshman in 2011, finishing with 819 yards and four TDs on 84 of 153 passes, Earned Freshman All-SEC honors by SEC Coaches and Rivals. Completed 19 of 36 passes for 283 yards (most passing yards by a true freshman) and two touchdowns in the come-from-behind victory over Ole Miss. His first collegiate start vs. Ole Miss earned him SEC Freshman of the Week honors. Started and played in just four games as a sophomore in 2012 due to an ankle injury. Completed 103 of 150 passes (68.7 percent) for 975 yards and eight TDs before the injury. In 2013, led UK in passing with 1,276 yards and nine TDs in nine games played. Earned a SEC “helmet sticker” vs. Miami (Ohio) by ESPN.com after going 15-for-23 for 310 yards and three TDs, including an 88-yard TD pass, which still ranks as the fourth-longest pass in school history. Graduated from UK in 2014 with a degree in integrated strategic communications. Transferred to San Diego State for his senior season, leading the Aztecs to seven straight wins before suffering a torn ACL in the final regular-season game. Totaled 1,529 yards and 13 touchdowns on 110 of 200 passes in 2015 for SDSU. Set the Aztec record for most games without an interception (10). He most recently was a graduate assistant on the University of Kentucky Coaching Staff.
