HIGH SCHOOL: Prepped at Union under head coach Kirk Friedrich… Helped Redskins obtain a 12-2 record and a state runner-up finish in 2013 as he earned all-district honors… Had a great junior year when he rushed 156 times for 1,149 yards and 15 touchdowns… Also hauled in 13 receptions for 229 yards and another two scores. He earned a full scholarship to Kansas State University
2015: Played in all 13 games, finishing third on the team with 355 yards on 78 carries with two touchdowns… His 355 rushing yards were the second most in school history among freshmen and featured a 119-yard game against Louisiana Tech, the fourth most in a game in school history by a freshman… His effort against the Bulldogs was the first 100-yard game by a K-State running back since the 2013 regular-season finale… Had 50-yard games against South Dakota (51) and at Oklahoma State (50)… Collected rushing touchdowns at UTSA and Oklahoma State.
2016: Saw action in 12 games, including his first-career start at West Virginia… Rushed for 464 yards and three touchdowns on 86 carries… Ended the regular season on a high note with 133 yards and two touchdowns at TCU, both career highs… Teamed with Jesse Ertz (170 yards) to produce the Wildcats’ first double 100-yard game since 2012, while it was tied for the third-most combined yards in a double 100-yard game in school history… Also combined with Ertz and wide receiver Byron Pringle (126 yards) to give the Wildcats their first game with two 100-yard rushers and a 100-yard receiver since 2003 (vs. California)… Carried 10 times for 77 yards – including a career-long rush of 36 yards – against Texas A&M in the Texas Bowl… Rushed for another touchdown against Iowa State.
2017: Saw action in each of the final 11 games of the year, rushing for 225 yards on 43 carries while catching two passes for nine yards… Recorded a season-high 45 yards at Texas Tech, a game that featured a career-long 42-yard rush… A preseason watch list member for the Doak Walker Award.
2018: Played in eight games, rushing 20 times for 76 yards and a touchdown… His best game of the year was at Oklahoma when he rushed eight times for 51 yards and a touchdown… His game against the Sooners also featured a season-long rush of 23 yards.
CAREER: A tough, physical runner who produced during his all four years on the field… Finished career ranked 26th in career rushing yards and ninth in career yards per carry (4.93). Silmon also was on the Doak Walker Award Watchlist in 2017.
