FBU - The Invitation Only Concept
FBU was founded as an elite educational football camp, and will be using an invitation policy as its guide to enrollment for the upcoming 2011 camp season. FBU is designed to train a small and elite class of football athletes who have already demonstrated their elite football ability, their seriousness for football, and have chosen football as their primary sport.

Selection Policy for Prep Division:
FBU created a national network of 55 football high school coaches from across the country that all scout one FBU region, speak with coaches and help identify the nation's top prep football players. Along with its recruiting partners like Rivals.com and its sister property, the U.S. Army All-American Bowl on NBC, FBU tracks the nation's top football players throughout the year. FBU then breaks down the athletes by region to identify the top 350 football players per region. An FBU region may comprise a single market like San Diego or several states depending on the size and strength of the of the overall football market. Every athlete in the country belongs to an FBU region (see map).
Starting in November through to January these invitations are sent to each athlete at his school or to his home. Every invited athlete will be guaranteed a spot at an FBU, but the location he may attend will be based on availability. Every athlete will be asked to reserve their spot two (2) weeks after receiving their invitation or they will lose their place to another athlete. If an athlete has a conflicting sport on the FBU date, FBU will work with the athlete to coordinate attending FBU in another city on a different date.
It is a challenge to scout the entire country and often we may miss top prospects because they are still emerging physically or technically, have changed positions, been injured, just started playing football or play for a team that receives little exposure. Therefore, we encourage any athlete, parent, or coach of an athlete to nominate a player they believe is an elite football athlete or who has the potential to be one. Each nominated athlete will be interviewed by one of our coaches for admission to FBU. These nominations will be considered for admission on a rolling basis during the year.
Selection Policy for Youth Division:
For athletes currently in 6th through 8th grade, FBU has created 32 selection teams with coaches and commissioners from hundreds of youth football leagues who provide FBU with an initial youth invite list per region. Every athlete on this list will get an invitation sent to his school or his home. We use the same 32 regional selection teams to select the nation's top 7th and 8th graders for the FBU Youth All-Star Game held in January during the U.S. Army All-American Bowl.
However, not every league is represented in this process and we simply cannot thoroughly cover every area in the country. Therefore, we encourage any youth athlete, parent, or coach of a youth athlete to nominate a player they believe is an elite football athlete or who has the potential to be one. They will be then interviewed by one of our youth coaches for admission.
Rational for Invite Only Policy:
FBU uses an invitation policy for several reasons. First, organizing the camp with similar talent makes for a better instructional setting, while the small class size provides a premium educational environment for all students. Second, most of our former NFL coaches and athletes who serve as instructors provide private or group training to top NFL, college athletes and prep athletes and so teaching in small groups is what they desire and are accustomed to. Finally, FBU in its third year simply cannot accommodate everyone who wants this high level training per region. The majority of the camps sold out last year and the invitational concept allows us to focus on the athletes who can best benefit from this high level training. We understand there are other national camps that are available to the non-elite athlete.
If you have been invited to attend FBU, we congratulate you on your invitation and your football success. We look forward to training you in the upcoming months and sending you more detailed information by your lead instructor. We are confident that the three days of elite instruction with other FBU elite athletes will be the best football training you have experienced. Welcome to the first day of the rest of your football life.

Invitation - Breakdown by Position:
The FBU invitational camp will be broken down by position and by grade level (as determined by class as of the Fall 2011 school year) in the following manner. The below breakdown is just a model that we will use as a starting point but we will vary the numbers based on the identified talent in each region and in each class and fields available at each venue.

FBU - Top Gun Invitations (Youth and Preps):
Although FBU will train the top 200 athletes in 32 regions, FBU will invite the best 80 athletes from around the country to FBU's year end "Top Gun Experience" for three days, which takes place near Orlando, Florida. FBU's partnership with All-Star Sports, allows our top athletes to be housed on campus at an NFL-level football training facility, currently the site for several NFL athletes in the off-season. The 90-acre state-of-the-art football complex encompasses Bermuda grass fields, an indoor turf facility, a speed and strength building and a first class lodge that sleeps all our of athletes, coaches and staff. The facility comes complete with an on-site chef, nutritionist, trainer, and large screen televisions. It is a private session with selected invited media. Rivals will provide gavel to gavel coverage as the nation's top athletes take the field to change the landscape of prep football under the supervision of our former NFL instructors. The curriculum will be even more advanced and the competition more intense than the FBU events in 32 cities.
FBU's Top Gun will not be limited to just top preps but will invite the top 80 7th graders, the top 80 8th graders and the top 80 freshmen for this unique gathering and experience on separate dates in July.
Invitations for FBU Top Gun will be made on a rolling basis and generally be sent out to FBU athletes in each region within two weeks after each FBU camp. FBU's instructional staff made up of former NFL coaches and NFL athletes will qualify and determine the invite list for FBU - Top Gun only after working with FBU athletes during regional FBU events.
Parents are invited to observe Top Gun activities from an observation deck daily but cannot stay on campus as housing is limited to athletes, staff and instructors. Hotel accommodations are located nearby.
